Hi! Definitely not your average bear!.

Some weird accident of genetics produced a bizarre set of qualities Eg: Nuclear Physicist who has done women’s fashion consulting in New York and dressed many women.

A history, politics and world affairs arts and culture buff who builds houses, does every construction trade personally (wiring, plumbing, design, drywall, framing, finishing, decor, even selecting and ironing the drapes and comforters) , restores historic buildings. As at home in my tux, business attire with flair or paint stained jeans.

One of 50 invited members of a UN initiated think-tank Academy tasked with considering the issues and trends politically, sociologically and information systems technology globally and predicting future developments in a 5 to 20 year time horizon. Based upon that analysis recommend policies and actions and organizational structures for local governments.

A passionate interpretive high energy dancer yet enjoys the tranquillity of my canoe.

Taught college on 3 faculties.. Arts, Business and Technology and pioneered new learning approaches.

Has designed and sold computer systems (founded and owned computer software and hardware firms) yet couldn’t figure out a VCR but able to write the screenplay for a feature length Hollywood film..

Has been an RCAF officer, Marketing and manufacturing manager at Westinghouse, a City Councillor, a managing partner of the Toronto office of a major management consulting firm, and been hired to restructure reposition and change the corporate culture of a 1,200 person company with 22 branch offices on the verge of bankruptcy..

Like most men, thick as a brick some of the time yet extremely intuitive and a breakthrough relationship counsellor when tuned in.

Can be focused intense and move mountains but normal mode is laid back, easy going, observational, reflective.. but give me music or one of the myriad topics that fascinate me and I become very animated. A Mensa level intellectual yet no ivory tower academic.

A strong, passionate down to earth, guy who takes his professions very seriously but never himself.. Can`t stand by if people (especially children), or power is abused.

Known as a wise, fun, witty, classy, renaissance gentleman, non judgmental, futurist, risk taker, principled, independent analytical thinker living outside the box yet emotionally intelligent. Tunes into peoples emotions and concerns.

Bore many because of my breadth, intensity, depth and passion of communication, irritate some and apparently intimidate some because of my free thinking intellect and independence.

An animated and passionate conversationalist with folks who like considering things in depth who find me fascinating (the VERY few) but not a networker nor comfortable in cocktail parties as I am shy by nature (really) and useless at small talk.

The creator of the concept and vision behind The Noble Suites Experiences.

Awarded the Queen's Silver Jubilee Decoration for volunteer work in Health Care.  Was elected to the Board of a hospital and elected chair the same night.  The hospital was shut down due to a dispute between the Doctors and the Administrator and between it (a General Hospital) and the nearby Sisters (Catholic) Hospital.  A Provincial Board of Inquiry had asked the Board to resign,  Instead they changed the by laws to disenfranchise the myriad new members of the hospital Corporation.  The Province stepped in, the Board resigned and I was elected chair at the subsequent election with a Board comprised of two warring factions...  50% previous Board members and 50% new.

I was asked by members of both factions to stand for the Chairman's position as apparently I was the only person in the City sufficiently respected and trusted by both sides.  I tried to create a bridge of trust between the Administrator and the Doctors and the Sister's Hospital and the community but he kept blowing it up.  I had to dismiss him with a polarized Board but succeeded and managed the hospital personally for a few months (unpaid) while finding a new Administrator.

In the meantime I had to deal with 2 lawsuits against the Hospital, close beds, transfer the School of Nursing to the College (my employer) , deal with the return of the Board of Inquiry and an Accreditation survey and proposed and founded a new nursing home (Sherwood Park Manor) as a joint project of the two hospitals both to fill a community need and as a way of getting them talking and working together on a win- win project for both.

I succeeded and the Doctors, staff, administration and Board of both hospitals started working together positively and harmoniously based on having established mutual trust and focusing on the health care needs of the community..

That leaves out the many dumb things I have done along the way. The writers of their own history always walk on water... even when not frozen.
